Britain’s Got Talent Audience Split Over Shocking Live Marriage Proposal
Britain’s Got Talent
Audience members are split following an unusual semi-final magic act that concluded with a sudden live marriage proposal.
Harry Moulding, hailing from Blackpool, started his act by vowing to ‘craft a unique magical experience for an individual in the crowd’.
Moulding subsequently requested the judges to pick a flashcard and announce a seat number to randomly choose three individuals, prompting the respective audience members to rise and verify their names.
Simon Cowell
was subsequently instructed to open an envelope that was given to the guest judge

At the start of the act, and to recite it aloud.
He described it as ‘creepy’ because it included the identical three seating positions along with the attendees’ names.

The magician requested that each of the three spectators choose a distinct element from the list: a celebrity’s name, a three-digit number, and a place.
The selected random names included Bruno Mars, 178, and Paris.
The performance started with Moulding giving flashcards to celebrity judges Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden.
Every card featured a variety of elements listed on them, such as famous personalities, seating positions, global travel spots, along with three-digit numerical codes.
When he brought audience member Jess onto the stage, he remarked, “Jess, every decision we’ve made tonight has been entirely arbitrary, but think about this—if I had told you everything happening here would occur 48 hours from now, it wouldn’t have seemed feasible?”
The magician then played a prerecorded video featuring him conversing with a pedestrian whom Jess identifies as her partner, Harry.
The video proceeds with Moulding posing several inquiries to Harry, such as whether he is married, how many guests he’d have at his wedding, who performs the first dance song, and what location he’d choose for the ceremony.
Harry subsequently stepped onto the stage wearing a wedding band and declared, “I adore you above all else. Would you be so kind as to grant me this honor? Will you marry me?”
At the beginning of his performance, Harry seemed to misname one of the audience members, prompting several amusing remarks on social media.
@wendymaximoff wrote on X: ‘Definitely her name is Constance, not concert LMFAOOOO.’
@TashAmaka added: ‘Why does he call Constance “Concert”? #BritainsGotTalent #BGT.’
Next, following a fan being proposed to, the audience couldn’t hide their astonishment.
@mariahscracker shared on X: ‘A marriage proposal during a magic performance? ?>’
a lovely sweet moment. well done Harry. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.’
@Colabubble even mentioned: ‘Now I am teary-eyed’.
In the meantime, @Teeej333 commented: ‘Oh my gosh, how lovely and romantic! This love proposal is really eerie.’
Nevertheless, not everyone was persuaded by the seemingly random nature of the performance, since several spectators noticed significant discrepancies.
@Sutherwood stated the act was: ‘Fake Fake Fake.’
@Lucy86114430 also commented: ‘Wait, if he had already met Jess’s boyfriend, then he knew which seat Jess would take. This implies he anticipated which spot the judge would choose as well. That doesn’t seem random at all then #BritainsGotTalent.’
This isn’t the first time BGT has found itself entangled in speculations regarding things not being quite what they seem.
In a previous episode of the series, vocalist Max Fox unexpectedly disrupted the concluding rounds of Britain’s Got Talent 2025 auditions. He emerged from the audience with the intention of performing right then and there.
The novice entertainer told Simon, “For 19 years, I’ve been attempting to appear before you, but I have never once had that opportunity.”
He went on, posing the question to the music and TV magnate, ‘Could you provide me with just one chance?’ before asserting that he had what it takes to demonstrate his capabilities to the country.
Even though Max delivered a remarkable performance of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” some spectators thought it was staged, which forced him to address and debunk these allegations.
Max made an appearance on This Morning stating, “The previous day, I had obtained complimentary tickets for the auditions—positioned three rows away from the panel. In the heat of the moment—I was situated behind a couple of elderly ladies—and I questioned whether I should approach Simon about performing.”
The enduring reality competition show made its return earlier this year to highlight some of the UK’s top variety talents, featuring everything from formidable vocalists to incredible performing troupes.
After weeks of preparation, we’ve nearly finalized our list of contenders, featuring Blackouts, Vinnie McKee, Ping Pong Pang, and Hear Our Voice.
The finale of Britain’s Got Talent will air next Saturday on ITV.
