Iowa Officially Welcomes Goalkeeper Trevin Jirak

IOWA CITY, Iowa –

2025 Iowa Mr. Basketball

Trevin Jirak

(Yur-ock) has entered into a scholarship pact with the University of Iowa’s men’s basketball team, as Head Coach Ben McCollum disclosed on Thursday.

Jirak, a 6-foot-11, 260-pound center hailing from West Des Moines, Iowa, marks the first commitment for the Class of 2025 under McCollum’s guidance. Additionally, he represents the inaugural signing of an Iowa native since McCollum took over as the Hawkeyes’ new head coach.

Trevin excels as a versatile big man capable of passing, scoring from the post, and shooting,” stated McCollum. “Over the course of the year, he added several inches to his height, reaching approximately 6 feet 11 inches, which could significantly influence games in the Big Ten Conference. We’re very excited about bringing him to Iowa City.

Jirak is the seventh player to join the revamped Iowa team this spring, along with players from Drake who have transferred.
