Ole Miss Shines: First Ever Women’s College World Series Appearance

Once you get going, there’s no stopping you. Ole Miss, the final unseeded team remaining, defeated Arkansas with a score of 7-4, securing their maiden berth at the Women’s College World Series.

Ole Miss capitalized on a terrible start from Arkansas. The Razorbacks reverted to their Saturday starting pitcher.

Payton Burnham

Following her flawless one-hit performance, the Rebels wasted little time in putting points on the board on Sunday.

Lair Beautae

struck out a two-run home run following a leadoff walk.

The rebels maintained the intensity.

Had Binford had him dead to rights on what seemed like a fake throw when Brady stole second base, but Binford managed to score during the rundown following a dropped tag. In the subsequent pitch, Brady crossed home plate due to an errant return throw to Burnham, which went sailing over Kennedy’s head, contributing to the fourth run of the inning.

Atalyia Rijo

, who failed to tag out the runner at second, resulting in all players being safe. The team took the lead in the following turn at bat with a sacrifice fly.

Makenzie Pickens

Singleton scored in an additional run during the fifth inning, and Brady smashed a solo home run in the seventh.

Binford, who moved over from Baylor in the fall, delivered an outstanding performance as a reliever. Pitching for 5.2 innings, she allowed just one run off two hits and managed to strike out four opposing batters. She closed the game strong by retiring 16 of the final 17 hitters she faced, ultimately advancing to Oklahoma City.
