“Pastor Ibiyeomie Claims Women Who Wear Leg Chains Are Prostitutes,” Says International Edition (English)

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, who founded Salvation Ministries, has criticized the growing concern over inappropriate attire worn by young females.

During his sermon at the fourth service held at Salvation Ministries’ main office, Ibiyeomie addressed the issue of leg shackles and cautioned women about adopting secular style fashions without comprehending their true significance.

“Many of you aspire to be stylish, yet you fail to understand the consequences of your actions,” the pastor said, with his congregation listening intently.

According to an X post from Monday evening by Church Times Nigeria, this information was shared.

He particularly commented on the fashion choice of leg chains, stating, “Women who sport chains on their legs are essentially saying, ‘I am a prostitute.'”

Elaborating further, Ibiyeomie stated, “Wearing leg chains originally signified ‘you are a prostitute, not confined to a hotel but readily accessible.'”

He stated, “Leg irons are not a trend; they are merely a promotional tool for prostitution.”

He did not mince words in advising young women to avoid following such trends, urging believers to maintain godly standards.

The pastor further criticised the exposure of private parts in the name of fashion, calling it irresponsible.

“You opened all your breasts and you say people are disturbing you,” Ibiyeomie remarked pointedly.

He similarly condemned the wearing of see-through attire that reveals underwear, labeling it as morally deficient.

His remarks sparked a torrent of responses, with numerous people backing his position whereas some question the suitability of making such candid statements.

Ibiyeomie concluded, “Your attire dictates how others will interact with you.”

In April, he commented that Jesus Christ did not mingle with people of modest means and suggested that followers should also keep their distance from such individuals.

His remark subsequently sparked widespread condemnation on various social media outlets and among religious groups after he asserted that
Jesus “detested poverty” and “never visited the dwelling of someone who was poor.”
during His earthly ministry.
