Bangladesh Railway Kicks Off Early Ticket Sales for Eid-ul-Azha
Dhaka, May 25 — The Bangladesh Railway began selling advanced train tickets for journeys starting June 4 early Sunday morning prior to Eid-ul-Azha.
To simplify things for travelers this year, all tickets for standard intercity trains are now exclusively available online, eliminating sales at train station windows entirely.
Online ticket sales for the Western region commenced at 8 am, whereas those for the Eastern region will begin at 2 pm.
Ten special trains will operate over five routes, running from June 4 to 6 and then again from June 9 to 14, including services on Eid day.
In contrast to standard services, tickets for these special trains can only be obtained at station counters and not through online platforms.
A total of 43 intercity trains will run nationwide during Eid, providing approximately 33,315 seats.

In addition, 25 percent of each train’s capacity will be reserved for standing tickets, which can also be purchased at the station counters.
As per the Railway’s Eid timetable, tickets for May 31 were made available starting May 21, with June 2 tickets going on sale from May 23, and those for June 3 becoming accessible from May 24. The sales for June 5 and 6 tickets began on May 26 and May 27 correspondingly.
Every traveler can reserve up to four seats in one booking. Advance-purchased tickets cannot be refunded.
On May 6, the Advisory Board agreed to grant a 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha, starting from June 5.
