Although taking over Cam’s role might seem significant from this perspective, he sees it differently. He thinks, ‘Hey man, calm down. I played with someone who won two national titles, and together we claimed an SEC championship. Compared to all of that, what you’re talking about isn’t a big deal. You guys even lost in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.’
After enduring a season-ending UCL injury on the last play of the first half, Beck moved to Miami.

In the SEC Championship, he was unable to join the College Football Playoffs. After the Bulldogs’ season ended, he decided to try his chances in the transfer portal instead.
He concluded the 2024 season with 3,485 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, along with 12 interceptions. Currently, Beck is focused on his rehabilitation but is expected to be the starting quarterback for the ‘Canes during the 2025 college football season.
It’s evident that Beck possesses the necessary experience. Additionally, Dawson mentioned that he appreciates that mentality from his newly acquired quarterback.
Away from sports, Beck has emerged as a recognizable presence online. Most recently, he was involved with Hanna Cavinder, who, alongside her identical sibling, excels both as a content producer and as a basketball player for Miami University. Nonetheless, according to Dawson, his arrival on campus doesn’t seem to have hindered Beck’s progress at all.
My perspective from the outside was likely similar to many others,” Dawson stated through CBS. “I’m not heavily into social media, but I thought, let’s take the time to understand who this young person truly is. The deeper I delved into knowing him, the clearer it became that he dislikes all that stuff just as much as I do.
“He hasn’t been on social media one time. He’s a very private person and you’ve got to get through some barriers to get to know the real him. There are no distractions now. In a lot of ways, he’s a lot more relaxed. I think that did kind of bother him at times. I felt like that he felt like he had to do [social media] because when you’re with somebody, it is what it is, but it really wasn’t who he was. Let’s focus on ball.”
