The World Cup Qualifying Match Was Finally Held At The Bung Karno Stadium. Grass Repairs Were Accelerated
The World Cup qualifying match was finally held at the Bung Karno Stadium. Grass repairs were accelerated. The Indonesian Football Organization, also known as PSSI, recently conducted an inspection at the main Gelora Bung Karno stadium in preparation for the 3rd qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. This stadium is set to host the exciting matches between Indonesia and Australia on September 10, including the match scheduled for match day two of the tournament. Initially, there was a plan to hold the matches at another stadium, but ultimately it was decided that Gelora Bung Karno would be the venue.
Currently, the stadium’s field is undergoing renovations managed by the GBK since the end of June. PSSI is closely monitoring the progress of these renovations to ensure that the stadium is ready for the upcoming matches. There is a concerted effort to complete the renovations on time to guarantee a smooth and successful event.
Arya Sinulingga, a member of the PSSI executive committee, has mentioned that efforts are being made to source specific grass from the Java area to expedite the restoration process. Additionally, the decision to utilize GBK for these matches was driven by the desire to accommodate a larger number of supporters and spectators, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
